A sieve analysis results in 100% retained in no. 50 Sieve, the fm is?
Answer / Radhe Shyam
In a sieve analysis, if all material passes through the #50 sieve (2mm mesh), then the fineness modulus (FM) is equal to the size of the next smaller sieve that retains some material. In this case, since nothing was retained in the #50 sieve, the FM cannot be determined.
