Difference between field rheostat and armature rheostat.

A field rheostat adjusts the current flowing through the magnetic field of a DC motor, which affects its speed. An armature rheostat adjusts the current flowing through the armature windings of a DC motor, which also affects its speed but primarily influences torque.
