What is specific fuel consumption and how fuel calculate?
Answer / Gaurav
Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC) refers to the amount of fuel consumed per unit of work output, often measured in grams per kWh or pounds per brake horsepower-hour. In marine engineering, SFC can be calculated by dividing the fuel oil consumption rate by the engine's power output.nFor example: SFC = (Fuel Oil Consumption Rate) / (Engine Power Output)

star connection for a 3 phase induction motor gives reduced starting current.but 1.732 times the rated current during run up period if the motor was designed to run on delta. Why can't we design the motors to run on star connection instead. It will remove the starting arrangement required making the construction an operation much simpler.
