What is the function of the generator exciter?
Answer / Achin Sharma
The function of a generator exciter is to supply a small electrical current, known as the excitation current, to the field winding of a generator. This process induces a magnetic field that is necessary for power generation. The excitation system controls the strength and direction of the magnetic field, which in turn affects the voltage and frequency output of the generator.
