What kind of Neutral CT can be placed in 11/0.433KV transformer to be used and what are its specification?
Answer / Preeti Singh
A Neutral Current Transformer (NCT) can be used with a 11kV/0.433kV transformer for monitoring the neutral current of the system. There are several types of NCTs available, but the most common ones for this voltage range are Air-type and Cast-core NCTs.
1. Air-Type Neutral Current Transformer: This type uses air as the insulating medium between the primary and secondary windings. They are lightweight, easy to install, and suitable for lower current ratings.
2. Cast-Core Neutral Current Transformer: This type uses a cast resin as the insulating material. They offer higher insulation strength, better stability, and can handle higher current ratings.

i am an maintenance engineer. one distribution board have 5 feeder. recently its ELR trips frequently, but it take some times after trip( 10min,20min..)but 3 feeder no load. two feeder only loaded. i checked one feeder IR value all values are above 50Mohm.but B phase to Earth is only 9Mohm.any problem about low value

i want to ask that as everybody knows that in star connection on star point is called neutral. my question is that why on that poin called neutral. what is the reason behind it. what is the logic behind it. i heared somewhere that on this point all phases current become zero thats why. if this answer is right then prove why on that point is current become zero. if this answer is not right then tell me the right answer. post ur answer here or on my mail address. m.ikram786@yahoo.com m.ikram555@gmail.com. thanks.
