What is the difference between Design and nominal mix?..

Asper IS456 nominal mix is prescriptive type...like 1:2:4...
But design mix is performance based..u want to design the grade..ratio...etc...

Design mix by weight with use admixture &Nominal mix by volume with fix ratio of cement, sand,aggregate.
