Consider a case that two 200 hp motors are connected to 500KVA transformer. For improving power factor can we add capacitors in common bus bars to motors. Or should we add capacitors for each individual motor?

Actually it depends on the motor's actual pf and the load with which motor is connected, so we have to connect capacitor with individual motor according to its pf.

Normally, Induction motor current lags the voltage (lagging power factor), to improve the system power factor, we have to add the capacitors in parallel with the load end. Somewhat we can improve the PF to some extend value.
