what is a power factor?
Answer / Abhimanyu Kumar
Power Factor (PF) is a dimensionless quantity that measures how effectively electrical power is used in an AC power system. It's calculated as the cosine of the phase angle between the voltage and current waveforms. A Power Factor of 1 indicates perfect sinusoidal waves, while values less than 1 indicate reactive power consumption (inductive or capacitive loads), and values greater than 1 indicate a source that provides reactive power to the system.
