distribution transformer de-rating formula on over limit iron losses  ..

Answer / Sudhanshu Garg

The distribution transformer derating formula to account for iron losses over the rated limit can be expressed as:nnK = 1 + (I^2 R_i / P)^(n)nwhere K is the derating factor, I is the rms current in amperes, R_i is the effective iron loss resistance per kilowatt per volt-ampere reactive, and n is an empirical constant, typically around 0.35.
