nominal mixes are those proportioned by the volume of the main ingrediants ( cement:sand:coarse aggregate ) Design mix:- Disign mixes on the other hand are specified as a grade the producer of the concrete has to achieve usually in terms of compressive srength

but in design mix we give the factor of safety
