Which power will flow first if we switch on a motor? Active or Reactive? How?..

Answer / ilamparithi

reactive . Motor is an inductive load current lags the voltage .the product of +ve voltage and -ve current initially gives -ve power (i.e) reactive power.

Which power will flow first if we switch on a motor? Active or Reactive? How?..

Answer / rishi

reactive power will flow first because as we have generally the motor electrical equivalent circuit composed of series resistors and inductance.
now if in any such circuit if current is to flow then it must charge the inductors first and then current will flow through resistors. hence this will lead to reactive power flow at the very first instant of machine switching.
