where we are used split range control

where we are used split range control..

Answer / deepan.p

split range control means we have only one measurement &more
than one manipulated variable.
ex:
seal steam system of turbine &turbine driven boiler feed
pump.
description
aim of system is to maintain seal steam pressure constant.
it has two control valves name it as seal steam valve&leak
off valve.
upto (4-12)ma(3-9)psi seal steam valve operates
ex:
if its closed for 4 ma its fully open when it receives a
commend signal of 12ma.
after that (12.1-20)ma(9-15)psi leak off valve operated.
ex:
normally it'a fully open at 12ma .if commend reaches 20ma
the valve will be closed .
that what they designed the control system and field control
valve positioner.
