From where 16 or 5.545 is derived in theoretical plates calculation formula by USP or JP/BP/DAB an..

Answer / dr. sp goswami

it comes auto width algorithm, also by calc of plate
thickness and how many plates can be in imaginery plates
when width is measured at 13.4% of the height(USP),50%(JP)%
By tangent to the baseline so every time due difference in
percent height calc in USP,JP, BP,DAB,EMG and 5sigma,4
sigma ,3 sigma there will be different values for this
coefficient like 16(USP),5.545(jp) etc
