According to the P-f Q-v the reactive power supplied by the
machine will be depends on the excitation voltage so by
varying the excitation voltage without affecting the
synchronization of alternator we can vary the powerfactor of
the machine

Why the power generated in dams is complex power? Why the generators in dams cannot produce Real power directly (i.e power which has zero reactive part)?
