why a single phase motor of same rating takes more amps than
the three phase motor? as single phase motor at 230v takes
5amp per HP while 3 p motor takes 2.5amp per hp at 230v.
Answer / k.prakashchandra
Input to single phase motor is 1150 VA, whereas to 3 phase
is about 1000 VA (line voltage=230 V)per HP. The efficiency
of single phase motor is less than that of 3 phase.

Hi If connecting a temp generator 670KVA .415kv with step up Tx .415/11kv. I am given Generator impedances Z1 Z2 Z0 to 100MVA base. Do I need to work out the generator fault current by using these impedances i.e gen rating / impedance. Then use this as my source impedance for the calculations that follow.
