milli meter water column used to measure pressure

Is This Answer Correct ?    105 Yes 11 No

why use MMWC unit..

Answer / khushwant

mmWC = millimeter of water column.
The unit is used to measure pressure in low range.
It means that tank with a height of 10m filled with water.
then pressure in that tank will be 10000mmWC.
because density of water is 1.

Is This Answer Correct ?    90 Yes 7 No

why use MMWC unit..

Answer / nikhil vaghela

use to measure the pressure at very high accuracy.
Its used in deaerator and furnace pressure measurement.
Where the accuracy is required.
1 kgCM2 = 10000MMWC.

why use MMWC unit..

Answer / rohan

That is correct.but why we use this unit.what is the basic
reason of using 'mmwc'

Is This Answer Correct ?    20 Yes 5 No

why use MMWC unit..

Answer / rohan

pressure p = height * sp.gravity * density
Density of water is unity. For this reason low pressure
measurement is done using mmwc unit.

Is This Answer Correct ?    19 Yes 5 No

why use MMWC unit..

Answer / jagdish

pressure P = height*acc. due to gravity* density

density of water is unity. due to this a small pressure
change gives large displacement in water colum and thus we
get accurate reading. so used mmWC.

Is This Answer Correct ?    13 Yes 5 No

why use MMWC unit..

Answer / vahid yaseri

mmWc MEANS MILLI METER OF WATER COLUMN & its used for low
pressure

Is This Answer Correct ?    13 Yes 5 No

How can we say that accuracy of measurement increases by using 3 or 4 wire RTD? because for example: If resistance of RTD element is say r ohms and Resistance of the cable from transmitter to RTD is R ohms And if 4 wire RTD is used, ____._____________________ R ohms | |_____._____________________ R ohms / \ / r ohms \ \ | |______.__________________ R Ohms | |_______._________________ R ohms Then the actual resistance measured will be: Total = r + R/2 + R/2 = r +R Ohms Note: r+R instead of r ohms. hence error
