On a 6 KVA UPS we have to provide a DC MCB for Battery bank of
16 nos (12 V 42 AH).
What Shall be the current rating of DC MCB ?
Answer / Shailender Kumar
To determine the current rating of the DC MCB, calculate the total ampere-hour (Ah) capacity of the battery bank and convert it to amperes (A):n1. Calculate the total Ah: 16 batteries * 42 Ah/battery = 672 Ah.n2. Convert the Ah to A by dividing by the number of hours you expect the UPS to run during an outage. For example, if it's expected to run for 8 hours, then calculate: 672 Ah / 8 hours = 84 A.nTherefore, the DC MCB should have a current rating higher than or equal to 84 A.
