A planet gear with 25 teeth is meshed with a sun gear of
100 teeth.
Both are connected using a arm. How many rotations are
needed for planet
gear to complete one rotation around the sun gear?

Answer / jayaraj
(np-na/ns-na)=-(zs/zp)
(np-na/0-na)=-(100/25)(assume sun gear to be fixed)
[(-np/na)+1]=-4
np/na=5
if na=1
then np=5
where
np=No of rotation of planet gear
ns=No of rotation of sun gear
na=rotation of arm,
zs and zp are number of teeth on sun and planet gears
respectively
