Which one is more accurate servo or stepper motor and why?

Answer / shyamkr
stepper motor is more accurate because its rotation angle is
fixed for each elctrical signal.
whereas in servo motor this rotation is not precise as
compared to stepper motor.

Servo motor use analog or (better) numeric signal
processing in order to make the motor exactly the desired
position. The theorical accuracy limit is only the encoder
resolution and the friction of the gearing which exhibit a
non linear behaviour, difficult to be modeled. Currently,
stepper motors are a bit obsolete, survivors of a time
where signal processing was uncommon.
