A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical
switch designed FOR OPRETE IN ABNORMAL CONDITION I.E. to
protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by
overload or short circuit. &
In an electric power system, switchgear is the combination
of electrical disconnect switches, fuses or circuit
breakers used to control, protect and isolate electrical
CKT.

system.it is working
by the command
given by the relay
about the fault.and a
switch gear is
nothing but the
combination of
relay ,cb and other

Ok,But I think CB is a protective device which is designed
for working in noload condition as well as in load
conditions and automatically oprated but SG is also a
protective device which only can be used in noload
conditions and manually oprated.
