Because plant and machineries are having inductve loads
like motors,Transformers etc whch are having low lagging
power factor.To reducing the loss due to low power factor
we have to improve the power factor.So we are installing
the capacitor bank for maintaining the KVAR value.

why capacitance effect is predominant in underground cable transmission and inductance effect is predominant in over head line transmission?
