how the capacitor work on dc?

how the capacitor work on dc?..

Answer / nithi

Theoretically, capacitor acts as open circuit with dc
supply.i.e.it continues to store charges till the voltage
b/w the capacitor plates equal to the supply dc
voltage.once it reaches that state, then it will act as a
open circuit.that charging time is depends on the charging
resistor,value of capacitance.
this answer is applicable to the ripple-free dc supply
only.if ripple is there, then it will act as a filter.
