As per IS code :1077-1957
Standered size 19 cm x 9 cm x 9 cm
and motor joint should be 10mm thick

we are using standard size of brick 19*9*9cm
because as we know mortar should be 10mm
so that with mortar size brick should be 20*10*10cm
which is easy for calculating No. of bricks in
structure.........

You all guys know it is nominal size 19 x 9 x 9mm and its IS standard, but in execution of works we use 23x11x7mm/ or 220 x 100 x 8mm different modular & non modular sizes in different states, but main thing is that the volume of 1 brick should matched with 19x9x9mm in all conditions
