how to find out speed of single phase motor..

Answer / jaimin modi

The same way as 3 phase induction motor...
if the slip of the rotor is s w.r.t forward rotating flux
i.e. the one which rotates same as rotor so
N=Ns(1-s)
where n is actual speed
Ns is the synchronous speed

how to find out speed of single phase motor..

Answer / amresh kumar ray

We know that single phase induction motor is not self starting. So rotor remains stationary even after application of supply voltage. But once the motor starts it runs at a speed very close to Synchronous speed.
So speed of single phase induction motor is rated as

n=120f/p
