What is the difference IN MCCB's between thermal magnetic and electronic tripping system ?..

Answer / Yadvendu Abhishek

The main differences between thermal magnetic (T-M) and electronic trip circuit breakers (E-TCB) are:
1. Tripping mechanism: T-M breakers use a bimetallic strip to trip when the current or temperature exceeds a certain limit, while E-TCBs use microprocessors to monitor the current and trip based on predefined settings.
2. Accuracy: E-TCBs offer higher accuracy in tripping compared to T-M breakers.
3. Response time: E-TCBs have a faster response time than T-M breakers, making them more suitable for modern electrical systems with fast transient overloads.
