Answer / gunnam santosh
as the frequency mainly depends on speed and number of poles
pn/120. basically 4 poles and 1500rpm motors are designed so
that we get 50hz frequency.

Answer / rupesh thakkar
Because most of indian power plant using 2 pole or 4 pole
and 2 pole genarater maintain 3000rpm and 4 pole genarater
1500 rpm. so we get 50Hz frequncy.
eq.
Ns=120F/p
Ns=synchrouns speed
F=frequncy
P=number of pole
120=span an angle

A powerplant has 8 gensets operating in grid parallel mode. In one genset sometimes there is pf variation and kvar variation. The plant operates in pf mode. When this variation is observed the load is stable, voltage is also stable, freq and genset speed is also stable. How will you check the functioning of pf card. What shall be the ideal output vdc of the pfc, from there it is input to AVR?
