Answer / suseendran
1. Conservator is for maintaining the oil level in the
transformer. i.e oil level in the transformer
increases(expands) during summer or full load and the same
decreases(compress) during no load or winter. Conservator
has to accommodate/ provide to maintain oil level full
inside the transformer.
2. As said above when thermal compression of the oil
happens, oil flows from the conservator tank to transformer.
During this air has to fill the remaining part of the
conservator. Breather is the passage by which air enters the
conservator(compare to our respiratory system). Hence the
name BREATHER..

breather is moisure of silicajell
breather to observe moisure its connected
to consverter top
conserverter tank is top of tha transformer and maintain
tha oil if any obnormality in tfr at tha time oil goes to

protection used in transformers:
buccholz device,earth fault protection,over current,over voltage,merz price,etc
breather:
wen transformer heats up oil(immersed)also heats resulting volume increase in oil.wen cool volume decreases resulting intake of air.to prevent moisture in air from entering inside silica gel is used.wen silica gel changes color simply dry it(in sun like clothes).somethin similar to human body breathing without moisture content
working of conservator tank:
in laymans terms gaddi ka reserve tank.oil garam hoke volume badhta hai to extra conservative mein ghusta hai

1.merz price protection.
2.becoz it is used for breathing purpose in the
xmer's,containig sillica gell.it is just like as human nose.
3.to provide extra oil to the transformer during the low level
of oil in winding. buckholz relay is also in it which provide
protection to the xmer's.
