Calculating costs associated with bad recruitment can be done by considering the following factors: (1) Direct Costs: hiring fees, advertisement expenses, travel and relocation costs. (2) Indirect Costs: training cost for unproductive hires, lost productivity while searching for a suitable replacement, lost revenue due to unfilled positions, and turnover costs.
