two bolbs of 100w and 40w respectively connected in series
across a 230v supply.which bolb will glow bright and why?

Answer / dinesh dafare
40 w bulb is high resistance approximately 1322 ohms and
100 e bulb is low resistance approximately 529 ohms .
Hence in series circuit voltage divide and current same.
Hence current required to 40 w is less than 100w so 40 w bulb is brighter

100 watt as
by the formula p=i^2r
p is directly proportional to r
i.e more power more resistance hence,100 watt will glow brighter

Answer / devansh
cont. my answer all above are wrong as the formula used is
p=v^2\r which is used in parallel as v remain contant while
taking p is inversely proportional to r and it happen in
parallel
so 100 watt

Answer / avinash
100 W bulb will be more brighter because same current will
enter in both of them but since the wattage of 100 W bulb
is more it dissipates more enery in form of heat and light
this is law of conservation of energy phenomenan
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 1 Yes | 48 No |
both bulb will glow equally .Because current entering in
both nbulbes is equal since they are connected in series
