It s correct that unit of density is kg/m3... but, specific
gravity doesn't have any unit!! its a constant...

density = mass/volume
= kg/m3
specific density = specific weight of liquid/s.w. of water
= n/m3*m3/n
= unit less

Density is mass per unit volume of the material and its
unit is kg/cum but sp.gravity does not consist of any unit
it is the density of material with respect to the density
of water at 4*c temp.
