conductor cannot be used as a core .Becoz, it is non-
magnetic material . But,core is built with magnetic material
(ferro-magnetic materials) having the properties of narrow
hysteresis loop & low reluctance.

A normal conductor cant be used for core. A core is a special
material having high BH loop area ( hysteresis loop) , with low reluctance. A alloy of steel material will be used of the above properties.
