What is harmonics in AC waves. How it is generated? How it
will effect the system network? how can eliminate it?

The integral multiple frequency components superimposed on
fundamental components is called harmonics.
It is generated due to switching action,power electronics
devies(static compensator,rectifiers) used in power
system,Arc furnace etc...
Due to harmonics
1)Resonance occur between inductive and capacitive parts of
circuit.It is dangerous.
2)Harmonics cause the interference with neighbouring
telecommmunication circuit and computer traffic.
3)Incresed loss in machines=>temp rise=>insulation failure.
Use of filter can solve the harmonics to some extent.
