Developement length is the length of the bar reqd to
transfer the force in the bar to the surrounding concrete
through bond.this length of embedment of bar beyond the
theoretical termination point is required so that the bar
doesnt get pulled out.
Ld = 0.87fy X dia of bar / 4 X design bond stress
