UV detector detects only those analytes which has UV
absorbence. Where as RI detects maximum analyts with diff. RI.

OVI measuring by using water as a diluent for standard and test preparation. OVI is nothing but it is also residual solvent combine with analytes durring its purification. In other word residual solvents may be varry by different manifactrures it depend on their manifacturing process so we can say that the Residual solvents are part of OVI.

Organic compounds whichever is having conjugation can be
detected by UV DETECTOR. (ELECTRONIC TRANSISTION SHOULD BE
POSSIBLE)
For inorganic compound RI detector is uesd .
OVI :Organic volatile impurities
Based on the toxicity solvents has classified as
class1,class2,class3.
Class 1 solvents are
Benzene 2 ppm
Carbon tetrachloride 4 ppm
1,2-Dichloroethane 5 ppm
1,1-Dichloroethene 8 ppm
1,1,1-Trichloroethane 1500 ppm
Organic volatile impurities:
Chloroform ,1,4 Dioxane,MDC ,Trichloromethane
