Why 16 Signaling links are the maximum links between two
GSM
switches?
Answer / sukhbir singh
In SS7 signaling, only 4-bits have been designed for
creation of 64-bit links between 2 different SPCs in the
same signaling network. 4-bits means 2*power*4 =16
If you need more than 16 links, you need to change the
signaling plane - NAT1 to NAT0 or vice versa. Assign
another SPC to the node in new signaling plane and create
more links. This feature is known as Multiple SPC Feature.
