rear engine is more efficient .. coz wen accelerating the
weight tends to shift to d rear part so placing the enginer
der will result in btr traction for the driving wheels ..

A bus having engine at front... bec pulling has less
friction than pushing a body.. a front engine pulls the bus
where as back engine push the bus...

it depends on weather front wheel drive or rear wheel drive
vehicle.
for front wheel drive vehicle placing the engine at front
is more efficient, coz it will avoid transmission losses.
and same thing for rear wheel drive vehicle.

i think a volvo bus with REAR engine and FRONT wheel drive would have better performance,, but cooling of engine and efficiency(transmission losses) would be affected to some extent...front wheel drive results in pulling the vehicle ,,hence fricton is less..and due to engine load on rear side the rear wheels have a greater road grip to push the vehicle...

I think front engine becoz it will have better cooling
effect so increasing efficiency.
Also at the time of initial traction whole weight is on rear
wheel so it may lift front part.
