Answer / mt
Strength is the maximum stress a material can hold or withstand just before failure.
Stress is the force applied divided by the section area (stress=F/A) where F is the force and A is the Area

The basic difference is shown from following formula
Factor of safety= Strength/ allowable stress

Answer / aniket shyam shewate
Stress is result of loading whereas strength is the
therotical value calulated on the basis of crystal structure
and chemical composition.
For both the units and measurement systems are same.
In short we can say that while loading the material stresses
are produced and not the strength.

its simple
stress is the force(KN)acting in a cross sectional area
and strain is the ability to withstand that stress.

Stress terms
A material being loaded in a) compression, b) tension, c)
shear.Uniaxial stress is expressed by
stress=F/A
where F is the force [N] acting on an area A [m2].
But we cannot compare stress with strength.
