current is unidirectional and remains steady in magnitude.

AC: means in electrical terminology (Alternating current.
its change its direction continueslly.
DC: means in electrical terminology (Direct current). its
doesn't change its direction.

ac means alternating current.It's magnitude is varying with time.In dc the magnitude is constant.ac has frequency but dc does not have frequency.
