What is the Difference Between MCCB & ACB & VCB..

Answer / navneet kumar

MCCB"Moulded Case Circuit Breaker" is based on expension of
bimetalic strip due to thermoelectric effect.

In ACB "Air circuit breaker" two contact seperate by the
force of spring in air.

In VCB "Vaccum Circuit Breaker" two contact seperate by
force of spring in Vaccum.

However, The application of all MCCB, ACB and VCB are same
i.e. to isolate the faulty circuit from healthy one.

What is the Difference Between MCCB & ACB & VCB..

Answer / sapan tirkey

mccb is generally used for 100A to 1000A (LT)415v
ACB IS USED WHERE CONNECTED LOAD RANGE IS 1000A AND ABOVE
(LT)415v
VCB IS USED IN OUTDOOR CKT HT SIDE i.e 11kv 33kv 132kv and
above

What is the Difference Between MCCB & ACB & VCB..

Answer / kareem

1. MCCB: - is Moulded case circuit breaker.
2. ACB: - is air circuit breaker.
3. VCB: - is vacuum circuit breaker.

.All is of different type with same
Functioning.

.All of them are used to isolate the power or to trip the
Power at the time of fault in line and thus save the
Circuit from further damage and isolate unhealthy part from
Healthy one,

1. MCCB is stand for moulded case circuit breaker. It is
for
Medium voltages.......

2. ACB:-air circuit breaker which use quenching device as
air and used up to 3000 Amps and used up to 11KV to
33KV......

3. VCB:-vaccum circuit breaker which use ark quenching
device as a vaccum and used from up to 33KV to 220KV....

What is the Difference Between MCCB & ACB & VCB..

Answer / naveen

Lot has been said before.

Bt MCCb, the Arc interruption is done through thermo
magnetic

ACB , it is arc is interrupted through Air,

VCB it is done in Vaccum space.
all the three are used to protect an electrical circuit
from Overload, Short-circuit ( Generally damage )and is an
electrical switch

What is the Difference Between MCCB & ACB & VCB..

Answer / syed

MCCB; moulded case circut breaker which is used to low
voltage to procted the equipments when any type of fault
comes.
ACB; air circuit breaker inthis type air quanches the arc
when fault comes it used in high voltage.
VCB; vaccume circuit breaker it also used in high voltage,
and vaccume playes the role to quanch the arc.

What is the Difference Between MCCB & ACB & VCB..

Answer / guy

All are breakers
MCB=Miniature CB MCCB=Moulded Case CB ACB=Air CB VCB=Vaccum CB
ELCB=Earth leakage CB RCCB=Residual current CB
Basically a CB is a switch which automatically opens in case of fault (many different faults exist)
The acronyms MCB, MCCB, ACB, VCB are referring to the technology used (i.e. how the breaker is manufactured)
As many others said before me arc breaking technology is different.
MCCB or ACB?
When choosing a breaker at design stage you look at the breaking capacity (kA), the rating, the functionalities of the trip unit (short, long, instantaneous protections, electronic type? yes or no, themal? magnetic? need earth protections? ) The selectivity with others breakers in the network, etc.. This will bring you to choose a ACB or MCCB, the one who will meet your design criterias.
If you want a 400V 5000A for sure no MCCB will be available but ACB will be
For a 1000A both will be.
Note that in some others languages than English there is no difference between MCCB and ACB.

VCB are common on HV (high voltage) but this is wrong wording as well because for instance Schneider VCB use a gas (SF6) and not vacuum.
So take care of the words that are mainly use for commercial purpose.

What is the Difference Between MCCB & ACB & VCB..

Answer / muhammad junaid afridi

MCCB stands for Moulded Case Ckt Breaker.
ACB Air Ckt Breaker.
VCB Vaccume Ckt Breaker..Its to Simple yar....
Summary....

MCCB (Molded Case Circuit Breaker)—rated current up to 2500
A. Thermal or thermal-magnetic operation. Trip current may
be adjustable in larger ratings.
Vacuum circuit breakers are circuit breakers which are used
to protect medium and high voltage circuits from dangerous
electrical situations.
Air circuit breaker—Rated current up to 10,000 A. Trip
characteristics are often fully adjustable including
configurable trip thresholds and delays.
