why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?

Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / deepika tola

Because any line has an impedance, and acc to a simple law
known as ohm's law, voltage drop, V=IR.. so wen ther is
resistance/impedance, any line, whether it be 3-phase, 1-
phase, d.c. or any new invention...... it WILL have a
voltage drop!!

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / ram_svepl

BECAUSE TRANSMISSION LINE ITSELF HAS ITS OWN IMPEDANCE
(JUST LIKE A SERIES CONNECTED LOAD)

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / jnanesh

Voltage drop especially in 3 phase system is due to low
power factor.Low power factor leads to increase in I2r
losses which in turn increses the regulation. As regulation
increases voltage drop occurs which directly effects the
efficiency of generation and increase in stress of
transmission line.Thats why KEB people who are responsible
for maintaining required voltage put fine if we maintain
low power factor.Corona and skin effect are negligeble .

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / mbeki

due to resistance of the conductor,V=IR, corona effect for
high voltage lines.

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / ismail

due to corona and skin effect in transmission line.

Is This Answer Correct ?    8 Yes 3 No

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / alshaikh

Because, the transmission lines are inductive conductor they have impedance and they absorb reactive power. So, we add capacitors to give reactive power to the transmission lines then will not be any dropped voltage.
But, if the transmission lines are resistive, then adding capacitors will not solve the problem because the resistive lines do not absorb reactive power.

Is This Answer Correct ?    3 Yes 0 No

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / sanjay s.patil

one reason is due to overloading and due to faulty
equipments connected to the line.

Is This Answer Correct ?    6 Yes 5 No

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / rodel b. serad

Due to Overloading and also the cable used has owned
resistance that can consumed voltage

Is This Answer Correct ?    2 Yes 1 No

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / mohammed ayyub

due to unbalance in line

Is This Answer Correct ?    13 Yes 15 No

why voltage drop will occurs in 3 phase line?..

Answer / sumitgarg

skin efect and corona effect r the most common effect that
causes the line voltage drop.
apart from that drops the very major and very technical
effect that cause loss in poer and freq. is reactive poer
loss.
than can be compenseted only by using Capacitor Bank.
