CLIPPER : IT IS AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE THAT CLIPPS OFF OR REMOVE AN UNWANTED PORTION OF INPUT SIGNAL WITHOUT DISTORTING THE REMAINING PART OF THE WAVEFORM. THE CLIPPER WHICH REMOVES THE POSITIVE HALF CYCLE OF THE IN/OUT SIGNAL IS CALLED NEGATIVE CLIPPER.
CLAMPER : THE CLAMPER CIRCUIT DOESNOT CHANGE THE PEAK TO PEAK RMS VALUE OF THE INPUT WAVEFORM. HERE THE WHOLE SIGNAL IS EITHER SHIFTED UPWARD OR DOWNWARD FROM THE REFERENCE LEVEL,ACCORDINGLY ,IT HAS BEEN CLASSIFIED AS POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE CLAMPER RESPECTIVELY.
