By earth resistance tester that consist of 2 electrodes
along with its leads.Connect one lead from earthpit to
tester & burry 2 electrodes in earth & connect there
respective lead with tester & then check the earth R. It
should be from 0 to 1 Ohm.

The Above stated answer is true but I would like to add
more to that.there is a technique called as Werner
Configuration Technique where we have in total 4
electrodes.The first and fourth electrode is connected to
Current source and 2nd and 3rd electrode is connected to
voltage source and all 4 are inserted into the earth.And
the data is recorded by a Earth resistivity meter.
