for brick size 230mmx115mmx75mm (1:4) for 1cum
volume of 1 brick= 0.00198
say 12mmtk mortar on brick layer
so vol of brick 0.00267 cum
No. of bricks in 1cum = 1/0.00267 = 375 num bricks
volume of bricks for 1cum = 375x0.00198=0.724 cum
volume of cement mortar 1~0.724=0.26cum
add 15% for wastae=0.3 cum
add 30% for dry mortarof 0.3 cum = 0.4 cum
for cm 1:4 = 1+4=5
qnty of cement 1/5 x 0.4 = 0.08 cum
1 bag of cement = 0.035 cum
0.08/0.035 = 2.28 bag
sand = 0.08 x 4 = 0.32 cum

The actual size of brick is 230 mm x 110 mm x 75 mm
Volume of one brick = 0.0018975 cum
For calculation take a wall of size 10.00 mtr long and 3.00 mtr height 230mm thick wall
Volume of wall = 6.90 Cum
No of course with 10mm thick mortar = 3.00/0.085 = 35 coarses
No of bricks in one coarse 10.00/0.24 = 41.67x2 =83 nos
Total no of bricks in wall = 83x35 = 2905 bricks
No of bricks in one cum = 2905/6.9 = 421 Bricks
Total volume of Bricks = 421x0.0018975 = 0.798 Cum
Volume of Mortar = 1.00-0.798 = 0.202 Cum
Add Wastage 15 % = 0.2323 Cum
Add Bulkage dry to wet mortar 25% = 0.29 Cum Say 0.30 Cum
If Mortar ratio is 1:6 then Cement = (0.30/7)x28.8 Bags= 1.23 Bags
Sand = (0.30/7)x6 Cum = 0.0.257 Cum= 9.0 Cft
If Ratio is 1:4 then Cement = (0.30/5)x28.8 Bags= 1.72 Bags
Sand = (0.30/5)x4 Cum = 0.24 Cum = 8.5 Cft
Sand

for brick size 200mmx100mmx100mm (1:4) for 1cum
volume of 1 brick= 0.002
say 12mm thick mortar on brick layer
so volume of brick=0.00267 cum
No. of bricks in 1cum = 1/0.002 = 500 no. bricks
volume of bricks for 1cum = 500x0.00154=0.77 cum
volume of cement mortar 1-0.766=0.23cum
add 15% for waste=0.26 cum
add 30% for dry mortar of 0.3 cum = 0.34 cum
for cm 1:4 = 1+4=5
quantity of cement 1/5 x 1 x 0.34 = 0.068 cum
1 bag of cement = 0.035 cum
0.068/0.035 = 1.94 i.e 2 bag
sand =1/5 x 4 x 0.34= 0.27 cum

Brick size 230mmx115mmx75mm (1:4)
volume of 1 brick= 0.00198cum
say 10mmthk mortar on brick layer
so vol of 1 brick 0.00255 cum
No. of bricks in 1cum = 1/0.00255 = 393 num bricks
volume of bricks for 1cum = 393x0.00198=0.778 cum
