1. Check the resistance of all windings. In case of three
phase motors resistance of all windings should be same.
2. Check the insulation resistance with megger. It should be
near about 1M-Ohm.

i am agrred by the statment given by friend but also in
some cases both above1 and 2 we find ok and problom we
find in iduction reactance which only can be measured by
motor checker .

Take a multimeter we have two windings
field winding
armature winding
The winding which has more resistance is called field
winding(250 ohms)
otherwise it is armature winding.
