what will be the difference in compressive test results for a
150 mm cube, a 150 mm cylinder and a 300 mm cube

15O mm cylinder strength (f'c)will be 80% in value for the
150mm Cubes(fcu) (in general). e.g. if fcu =50MPA for same
concret f'c = 40MPa.
But conversion of cylinder strength to cube strength is
very complex. It depends on cylider dia, and height etc.
In ACI 318, the relation curve is given for ready reference.

The compressive strength of cube or cylinder is depends on
slendernwss ratio and volume.. as the slenderness ratio
increases strength decreases and volume increases strength
decrease

The compressive strength of concrete is depends on the ares
of concrete. m20 concrete means 20n/cm2 -area of square
cube is=15cmx15cm=225cm2 that means ,the strength of m20
concrete cube is 20x225=4500N (OR)450 KG... like that
cylinder area and cube area should be cakculated

Answer / er. mohit sharma
i think if the volume of concrete is increase then
strength is also increase becausse M20 means 20N/mm2 so if
we increase the area of surface strength is also increase

The Specimen Size and shape effects on the compressive
strength. Diffrent size of cylinder of diffrent height nave
diffrence compressive strength. the diffrence between these
cubes is we don't compare these strength result with the IS
standard which has been tested in a standard cube.
