column, but data come only once from the source and checks
all the conditions in the switch stage and loads in to
target.

Filter: It contains 1 input link and multiple output links
we can write the multiple conditions on the multiple
fields.
switch: It contains 1 input link and 128 output links
we can write the multiple conditions on a single
field

Apart from aforementioned answers

Switch is viable when u have less number of values to branch out.

Filter is versatile and you can use UNIX commands/sed also in filter condition.

wt is the difference between swith and filter stage..

Answer / swamy

Hi,

The main diff between filter and switch stages..
filter performs on sql queries and we can declare 'n' num
of out puts for 'n' num of where clause conditions.
But in swith stage perfoms on single column level rows
only.. and every time it checks source system befor going
to load the data into target, but filter not like that.

If you have any doubt in this.... give a cal to my num..
