electrostatic precipitator (ESP), or electrostatic air
cleaner is a particulate collection device that removes
particles from a flowing gas (such as air) using the force
of an induced electrostatic charge. Electrostatic
precipitators are highly efficient filtration devices that
minimally impede the flow of gases through the device, and
can easily remove fine particulate matter such as dust and
smoke from the air stream.[1]. In contrast to wet scrubbers
which apply energy directly to the flowing fluid medium, an
ESP applies energy only to the particulate matter being
collected and therefore is very efficient in its consumption
of energy (in the form of electricity).

ESP is electr static precipitator. With the help of corona
discharge theory it restricts the carbon particle in flu gas
and unburnt pulverised coal. By preventing the mixing coal
particle with atmosphere it save the nature from pollution.
According to Pollution control board the efficiency of ESP
must be 99.99%

Electric Submersible Pump.an artificial lift system that
electrically drives multiple centrifugal stage pumps to
lift oil and water from wells. The number of stages depends
on the size of the well casing, depth and the amount of
fluid lifted from the oil or water well

Q : How to calculate cooling water pumps head, do I need to consider static head and frictional loss of the pipe with high elevation? I mean to say is discharge pipe branches to several elevations and joins to the cooling water return line. The highest elevation pipe goes to a heat exchanger at (xx) psi inlet pressure. Should I consider only pump discharge header and this piping for head calculations? How about frictional losses in return pipe? Pressure recovered in return piping is good enough to make it back to the cooling tower?
