Investment and asset are really close in meaning.
Investment is when you put your money in stock, bond or
other financial instruments. Whereas Asset is what you own
generally reffered to land, proprietorship , factory, etc.

Fund manager (or investment adviser in the U.S.) refers to
both a firm that provides investment management services
and an individual who directs fund management decisions.

indicate strength. Investment is a component of asset which
is to be invested in the marketable securities like shares,
debentures,negotiable instruments like commercial papers,
bills of exchange, bonds etc.while assets may be either
current assets or fixed assets.Fixed assets include

term investments, bills recievable etc.
