Any natural stone is non porous and if properly cemented
does not allow water to penetrate. However if the joints of
these stones if not sealed and made watertight could still
allow water to penetrate.Box type waterproofing were
carried out some years ago when polymer and other
waterproofing chemicals were not introduced. Now we have
better system of waterproofing for terrace and open areas
which gives better water resistance and long life.
