PI stands for proportional integrator controller. In this
system input to a system is composed (SUM) of two signal.
One is the input that we applied and second integral of
feedback from output. Advantage of using PI is that steady
state error is reduced that is effectively not possible by
using proportional alone signal.
PID=proportional +integral +derivative of feedback from
output.
No there is not ID controller but there is integral
controller system.
As i have already mentioned that PI is used to reduce
steady state error.
We we want to improve damping ratio besides improving error
signal then we use PID

As a water tank loses heat, the temperature drops by 2 K/min when a heater is on, the system gains temperature at 4 K/min. A two-position controller has a 0.5 min control lag and a neutral zone of ± 4% of the setpoint about a setpoint of 323 K. Plot the heater temperature versus time. Find the oscillation period
